Introducing Clinical Trials for Individuals Living with Rheumatoid Arthritis & Polymyalgia Rheumatic

Updated: Apr 11, 2022

Paducah Rheumatology partners with Four Rivers Clinical Research to conduct clinical trials for individuals living with rheumatic diseases in our community.

Dr. Phillips has served as a principal investigator for all rheumatology trials in Paducah. Through Paducah Rheumatology’s collaboration with Four Rivers Clinical Research, we have the unique opportunity to offer clinical trial options in addition to the excellent standard of care they are already receiving from the healthcare team at Paducah Rheumatology.

“The most rewarding part for me and our patients is allowing them to have access to treatments they wouldn’t otherwise have. These trials are cutting-edge and can be a great alternative for patients who have already exhausted other types of treatments. It is very rewarding to have these new therapies available to offer,” says Dr. Phillips.

The two current clinical trials are accepting participants with rheumatoid arthritis or polymyalgia rheumatica. Both of these rheumatic diseases consist of inflammatory conditions and a degree of unmet needs for treatments that are FDA approved.

There are no out-of-pocket costs for testing or treatment for individuals chosen to participate in a clinical trial.

If you are a current patient of Paducah Rheumatology who is interested in one of the two clinical trials currently available, please mention your interest during your next visit to our clinic. We can offer more information and check to see if you qualify for the clinical trials. There is no commitment necessary for simply speaking with our healthcare team about one of the two clinical trials. Your healthcare provider will talk to you in-depth about what the clinical trial will entail, what the treatment is, how long the study is, and how it works. Additionally, your healthcare provider will ask questions to see if you qualify for the clinical trial.

The Four Rivers Clinical Research team is also available to offer more information about the clinical trials and to see if you qualify as a participant. You can reach Four Rivers Clinical Research and inquire about a clinical trial by calling 270-477-1600 or text 270-994-9926.
